PROBATION PROGRAMMES
As part of a Community Order, an offender may also be required by the court to attend a specific programme run by probation staff to address a particular type of offence. The programmes run on Merseyside are:
Think First
Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage it (CALM)
Racially Motivated Offenders
Sex Offenders
Domestic Violence
Addressing Substance Related Offending (ASRO)
Drink Impaired Drivers (DIDs)
Internet Sex Offenders
All programmes are designed to address the attitudes and behaviour of the offender, focus on victim empathy, put into place strategies for reducing the chances of further offending and raise awareness and understanding of the impact of an offender's actions on others.
