PROBATION AIMS

The National Probation Service for England and Wales has five priorities:

The protection of the public.
The reduction of offending.
The proper punishment of offenders in the community.
Ensuring offenders’ awareness of the effects of crime on victims and the public.
The rehabilitation of offenders.

All community supervision has to comply with nationally set standards, and is rigorously enforced.
